University of Bologna Training

Location Bologna, Italy
Host Institution University of Bologna
Date 2022-01-17 - 2022-01-19

The training was held at the university of Bologna. The training featured several interesting lectures, as well as visits, delivered by university professors as well as industry professionals. It focused on “Geothermal Reservoir Engineering”. The training included a course on geothermal applications which includes in-site analysis, introduction to numerical modelling with feflow, design of systems, geothermal heat exchangers, thermophysical properties, heat transfer in the ground, and lectures on modelling. The training explored how to maximize the use of geothermal reservoirs. This included the heavy use of numerical models to model systems, reservoirs, and other aspects of a geothermal system. The training also included a site visit to a pilot system, to farther demonstrate how such systems operate in real life and to also guide the design and development of the pilot system being constructed at Cairo University. The training was held at the university of Bologna.
